Petit ELJ Wooloowin is steeped in deep history as our beautiful Centre was once the Kedron Brook Bakery which was established in 1888. Over the years the building has been used for various purposes, but we are proud to now call this our home.
Our children’s interests make the foundation for our learning program, as we believe that all children’s voices should be heard and valued. Our learning environments are designed to encourage the whole child while being mindful that we are supporting the individual child too. We believe in making our families feel like part of our family, which encourages and builds strong and respectful relationships that are meaningful and true. We do this by collaborating with all our families to ensure the best outcome for all children.
At Petit ELJ Wooloowin, we support our team by offering professional development training to encourage their growth and development. We love to celebrate not only our children strengths within our Centre but our Educators too.
Amber ColeCentre Director
Hi, I’m Amber Cole, Centre Director of Wooloowin. I have studied my Bachelor of Arts majoring in Primary and Early Education. My biggest motivator is recognising the positive impact we have on children’s lives.
I am passionate about leading a progressive, caring team and I love each and every day in my role. I believe children learn best and discover their world through exploration, curiosity and child lead experiences.
Our Educators create purposeful, open ended environments that influence the creativity and care for each child.
Natalie GadsbyCo-Centre Director
My name is Natalie and I have been in the care sector for 20 years. I am originally from England and I have been in Australia for 7 years and love the outdoors lifestyle this brings.
I love being active and exploring new environments, as well as also continuing my personal development in my own time to help me continue to understand child development. I started my working years within Mental health and disability support. During this time, I worked with children from 3 months to 18 years. I have undertaken professional development in childhood psychology, early years development and more.
This is where my passion was ignited in early childhood education and care. I have always believed that all people have the ability to grow and develop and thrive in life with the right support. Being part of a child’s journey as they navigate through their early years is the most rewarding aspect of my role. I am looking forward to becoming part of the Petit Wooloowin family and sharing this journey with you.

There is a strong focus on children’s social and emotional development to ensure that each child has the skills to become active and confident learners as they move onto school.
Here at Petit ELJ Wooloowin, we run a play-based program that stems from the children’s interests, strengths and needs.
We have a keen interest in the importance of families in the children’s kindergarten experience, and we work to nurture the link between home and kindergarten with all the families we meet. We are excited to share with you the learning of your child, and we look forward to the shared experiences of play and fun that we have in each session.

I wanted to take this opportunity to express how extremely impressed I am with the centre and the joy I get dropping my child there. They constantly go above and beyond my expectations and my experience has been amazing. My little boy was such a handful who was experiencing such a huge problem with childcare but since moving to Petit I can see a huge change. The teachers Molly and Louisa are caring and comforting and just so approachable and seem to be so engaged in what they do with the children. Lastly Jo and Yara wowza these woman are bloody legends! They have made my journey as a mother so much easier – they always makes me feel welcome and my child feel validated and loved! Well done to Petit for having a centre that is so outstanding.
