Nicole ClementsCentre Director
Hi, my name is Nicole Clements, and I am the Centre Director at Petit ELJ Richmond. I have been in the Early Childhood Industry for over 10 years.
The RIE philosophy guides my practices, and I believe that children deserve the utmost respect and are constructors of their own knowledge.
I strive to inspire and mentor the team of phenomenal educators at Petit ELJ Richmond, to gain further knowledge in how to educate children in all aspects of the day – I believe we learn alongside children. I think it is vital to empower families and provide them with the tools to work alongside the team, to provide the best care and education for their child.
Open and honest communication is essential to connect and share information with others in the early childhood community. Children benefit greatly when we can both work together in unison.

Richmond Kindergarten Program
Enrol your child in a Kindergarten Program today to encourage a smooth transition and school readiness!
There is a strong focus on children’s social and emotional development to ensure that each child has the skills to become active and confident learners as they move onto school.
Here at Petit ELJ Richmond, we run a play-based program that stems from the children’s interests, strengths and needs.
We have a keen interest in the importance of families in the children’s kindergarten experience, and we work to nurture the link between home and kindergarten with all the families we meet. We are excited to share with you the learning of your child, and we look forward to the shared experiences of play and fun that we have in each session.
Petit ELJ Richmond Kindergarten Teacher Profile
Dejana Klipa Early Childhood Teacher
I have been working in early childhood for over 6 years and have an Early Childhood Bachelor Degree.
My teaching program is based on a play-based curriculum which embraces the Early Years Framework. The curriculum is furthermore underpinned by the acknowledgment of the critical role in which social and emotional wellbeing plays in a child’s overall successful development. The program includes small and large group inquiry projects, science experiments, group discussions, expressive art creations, contributing to local excursions, incursions consisting of Chinese lessons, music and movement and physical education, community and cultural events ensuring collaborative learning experiences.
School readiness is a crucial moment in a child’s life where they make a big leap from kindergarten to school. When I picture a child going to school, I imagine them as capable intellectuals who can follow instructions, complete an activity and use undivided attention. They can express emotions safely, apply coping strategies and staying calm in times of distress. A personal understanding of space, contributing in small and large group games and discussion where they show sharing, taking turns, appreciating differences and respecting someone else’s perspectives, having the ability to resolve conflicts safely and verbally confidently.
I believe that teachers have an essential role in sustaining children’s future learning and development. The most rewarding aspects of my role include knowing that I am the reason why children have blossomed into individuals who have so much potential to maintain relationships, develop vast dispositions for learning and enjoy the person they are becoming.

We are grateful for the love, care and guidance that both our little ones receive at Petit Richmond. The educators look at all the children as individuals with their own strengths and needs and we have been blessed with awesome educators who understand our children’s challenges and handle them both with grace. Both kids have learnt so much and we love seeing the updates of the goings on each day at “school” on StoryPark. I can’t begin to thank the staff enough for everything they have done for our family. Petit Richmond is an incredible centre that engages and teaches at all steps of the day.

I have been absolutely delighted with the level of care provided by the Angel Avenue team at Petit Richmond. My daughter is learning bucket loads everyday she is there. I feel very secure knowing she is in the extremely capable hands of Arati, Pryia and team along with the fact she is experiencing new and exiting activities that I would not be able to provide for her at on home. The centre is always clean and inviting and I would happily recommend the centre to any parents looking for an excellent daycare. Thank you so much for looking after my baby girl so well.

Reflective practice in child care helps Educators to approach ongoing challenges, situations and ways of doing things. By engaging in critical reflection, Educators are better informed when it comes to making decisions. Every child has the right to quality early childhood education. When we value these rights, it compels us to provide learning in an environment based on high-quality pedagogy. Reflecting on our teaching strategies in early childhood is crucial to improving pedagogy. When we question the purpose of education and explore early childhood contemporary approaches, we […]

The relationships children build at child care are at the centre of all learning. Research shows that Educator-child relationships matter as do those with other children. “Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships” is one of the five core principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Educators need to prioritise their relationships with children, as reflected […]
