Kelly Goodsir

Since I can remember I always knew I would be a teacher.  What I now know is being a teacher is also about being a learner.  Both of which I embrace.  My 20 years in the early childhood profession has provided a wide scope of experiences across the sector which connected with my passion provides a great platform for the delivery of innovative and customised approaches to training and coaching.  Previous roles have included:

  • Teacher
  • Service Director
  • Educational Leader – single and multiple sites
  • NCAC Validator & NQS Assessor with changeover
  • Professional Development Trainer

“Live in the Learning”

I am strongly influenced by my New Zealand heritage, which includes the framework in which I was trained as an early childhood teacher ‘Te Whaariki’.  I view the context of early childhood as an interwoven fabric, where children, families, community and ECE professionals work together in making decisions about ‘teaching & learning’.  I believe in:

  • A strong image of the child (and educator)
  • Environments that support learning
  • Documentation that makes thinking & learning visible
  • The art of reflective practice
  • Being connected and present as a teacher

Nicole Talarico

I am a consultant in the early childhood field who supports services with high quality practice & ongoing improvement planning. I deliver Professional Learning through conferences nationwide as well as via local government professional learning programs.

I have successful coaching practices that have been outlined in early childhood publications primarily supporting educational leaders and teams in the sector. I mentor educators in varying roles in the early childhood field; Directors, room leaders, co educators, educational leaders, sustainability officers, management teams, cluster managers to name just a few.

I have intensely driven environmental & sustainable practices through leading project groups in a number of children’s services and showcased these achievements for cluster & conference presentations. My ability to relate to others comes from extensive experience working in long day care, sessional preschool, coordinating Melbourne University’s Vacation Care programs and from tertiary supervision for Melbourne University.

I began my journey in long day & sessional pre school. I later worked in local government children’s services teams and managed a childcare field officer team before becoming an early childhood consultant at Gowrie Victoria.

I am a mother to four children and I am also the founding Director of Medical Action Bag supporting first aid & environmental practices in Australia & New Zealand
