Petit ELJ Kew is a purpose-built early learning Centre that provides a holistic approach to education and cares for children between 6 weeks and 6 years.

Our spacious studios are designed to create environments that are welcoming and engaging for your child and allow them to feel as though they are at home away from home.

We believe that after families and educators, the environment is the children’s third teacher. We collaborate and consult with our incredible team, families and early childhood professionals to develop a philosophy that guides our practice here at Petit ELJ Kew. We are a centre that inspires, nurtures and guides our children to a lifelong love of learning.

Stephanie SimopoulosCentre Director

Hi, I’m Stephanie Simopoulos, Centre Director at Petit ELJ Kew.

I’ve been working in the early childhood education and care industry for 10 years, mainly in management. I have continued to study everything from business to teaching, to management to ensure that my knowledge and ideas are current and inspiring.

The most important aspect within my career has been maintaining the relationships I’ve made with families, children, educators and community that I’ve worked within.

I aim to ensure that not only children feel a sense of belonging, but also their family members and the educators that teach and care for them. My hope for Petit ELJ Kew is to be an integral part of the community that connects families and community professionals into a safe place where they can be and leave their children. Where their children are loved, cared for, taught, inspired and most of all, valued as individuals.

Here at Petit ELJ Kew, we are building our team into a family, and we would love to have you join us.

The high-quality care your child deserves!

Extra-curricular activities

To complement our quality educational program and enrich your child’s early learning journey, we offer numerous incursions and excursions throughout the year. Some of which are inclusive within your daily fee. At our Kew Centre, we offer Melbourne Kids Yoga and Little Sports Heroes.

Meals

Have peace of mind that your child is eating fresh nutritionally sound meals as they are prepared on-site by our very own chef. Collaborating with experts in nutrition and working alongside recognised nutritional bodies within each state on our menus, all meals are made seasonally to ensure we use quality ingredients. Included each day are breakfast, morning tea, nutritious lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

Inclusions

We love to make our families’ lives a little easier by offering all day to day necessities. All nappies, wipes, bed linen and food are included in your daily fees. We also provide hats and sunscreen for all children. To enhance your child’s early learning journey with us, we are also pleased to include special extra-curricular activities within your daily fee.

The perfect environment for your child to discover their creativity, confidence and love of learning.

Your child will be engaged in an honest, welcoming and friendly environment that is suited to their age and developmental needs. Our staff-to-child ratios ensure your child is getting the best care and attention they need and deserve.

Kew Kindergarten Program.

Enrol your child in a Kindergarten Program today to encourage a smooth transition and school readiness!

There is a strong focus on children’s social and emotional development to ensure that each child has the skills to become active and confident learners as they move onto school.

Here at Petit ELJ Kew, we run a play-based program that stems from the children’s interests, strengths and needs.

We have a keen interest in the importance of families in the children’s kindergarten experience, and we work to nurture the link between home and kindergarten with all the families we meet. We are excited to share with you the learning of your child, and we look forward to the shared experiences of play and fun that we have in each session.

Benefits of attending a Petit ELJ Kindergarten Program

Our qualified early childhood teachers guide children through a learning journey that provides the foundation for a successful transition to school and that aligns with the EYLF that ‘all children experience learning that is engaging and builds success for life’.

Through participation in our evidence-based pedagogy program which include elements of play-based, inquiry-based and project-based learning, children are encouraged to investigate and explore materials and ideas through play and purposeful interactions.

In attending a Petit ELJ Kindergarten, your child will:

  • Build a sense of security, trust and a confident self-identity.
  • Independence and perseverance are encouraged and nurtured.
  • Learn to show respect for diversity and their environment.
  • Build a sense of autonomy and explore ways to be healthy and safe.
  • Develop confidence and involvement in their learning journey.
  • Have the opportunity to use technology for learning and communication.
  • Explore and expand their language and engage in literacy and numeracy in personally meaningful ways.

All of which we believe will support your child in a successful transition to school and set them up for future learning success.

Extra benefits we gift to you and your child

  • Enriching and exciting incursions and excursions (such as adventures to our local Library, Coles and Alexandra Gardens).
  • Assess to interactive Smartboard to enhance learning journey.

Our parents are impressed with Petit Early Learning Journey.

Ingrid Quanchi, Kew VIC

All of the staff go out of their way to make my daughter and my husband and I feel like part of the Petit family and ensure that they are caring for our daughter in the same way we would at home. I always feel confident that she is in good hands each day. Most importantly Emily loves attending Petit and learns so much from her peers and educators.

Tanya Gilliver, Kew VIC

The centre is very professionally run, they give regular updates, and have good systems and processes. The staff are LOVELY, kind and caring and they know my child very well. Most of all, he’s happy at drop off and doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day.
