Amber ColeCentre Director
Hi, I’m Amber Cole, Centre Director of Petit ELJ Coffs Harbour.
My biggest motivator, while completing my Bachelor of Education, was recognising the positive impact we have on children’s lives. I am passionate about leading a growing, caring team, and I love every day in my role.
I believe children learn best and discover their world through exploration, curiosity and child lead experiences influenced by the creativity and care of a child’s educators to create purposeful, open-ended environments.
The high-quality care your child deserves!
The perfect environment for your child to discover their creativity, confidence and love of learning.
Your child will be engaged in an honest, welcoming and friendly environment that is suited to their age and developmental needs. Our staff-to-child ratios ensure your child is getting the best care and attention they need and deserve.
Coffs Harbour Pre-school Program
Enrol your child in a Pre-school Program today to encourage a smooth transition and school readiness!
There is a strong focus on children’s social and emotional development to ensure that each child has the skills to become active and confident learners as they move onto school.
Here at Petit ELJ Coffs Harbour, we run a play-based program that stems from the children’s interests, strengths and needs.
We have a keen interest in the importance of families in the children’s pre-school experience, and we work to nurture the link between home and pre-school with all the families we meet. We are excited to share with you the learning of your child, and we look forward to the shared experiences of play and fun that we have in each session.
Petit ELJ Coffs Harbour Pre-school Teacher Profile
I have been working in early childhood for ten years and have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
My Pre-school program is all about confidence. It is about building confident, strong and capable children. The most important thing transitioning to kindergarten is providing a space that is fun, resourceful and a space to encourage children to engage and grow.
As an early childhood educator, my role is to provide an opportunity for learning and extending on each individual interest. By doing this children are engaged more and gain more in the best possible way.
By having strong relationships with our children and their families, we have a better chance to create little humans that are strong, knowledgeable and confident.

Reflective practice in child care helps Educators to approach ongoing challenges, situations and ways of doing things. By engaging in critical reflection, Educators are better informed when it comes to making decisions. Every child has the right to quality early childhood education. When we value these rights, it compels us to provide learning in an environment based on high-quality pedagogy. Reflecting on our teaching strategies in early childhood is crucial to improving pedagogy. When we question the purpose of education and explore early childhood contemporary approaches, we […]

The relationships children build at child care are at the centre of all learning. Research shows that Educator-child relationships matter as do those with other children. “Secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships” is one of the five core principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Educators need to prioritise their relationships with children, as reflected […]
